2020 NBA draft: What to know about TV, live stream, order of picks

The NBA's sprint of an offseason is underway. Some teams have already set toreshaping their rosters through trades. Others will start doing so in earnest Wednesday night in the 74th annual draft.

Like so many events in 2020, this year's draft will be conducted virtually. Picks will be made from ESPN's studios in Bristol, Connecticut, with prospects and teams checking in via Zoom.

The frantic offseason has opened up the draft to the possibility of plenty of wheeling and dealing. The rumor mill has been in overdrive the last month with speculation of movement everywhere, including at the very top of the draft.

While we wait to see how things play out Wednesday night, make sure you're up to speed with all the key information for the 2020 NBA draft:

How to watch

ESPN is back again on the broadcast. Coverage begins at 7:30 ET with a preview show, followed by the draft at 8 ET. The preview show and draft will both also stream live on the Watch ESPN app.

Top picks

The Minnesota Timberwolves are on the clock with the No. 1 overall selection. The Golden State Warriors pick second, with the Charlotte Hornets third. The Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers round out the top five. (Complete draft order below.)

Top prospects

A consensus top three has emerged in Anthony Edwards of Georgia, James Wiseman of Memphis and LaMelo Ball, who spent last season in the Australian-based National Basketball League. Below that, Deni Avdija of Israel, Obi Toppin of Dayton, Tyrese Haliburton of Iowa State, Isaac Okoro of Auburn, Onyeka Okongwu of USC and Killian Hayes of France are all likely top-10 picks.
