Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi is set to depart the Emirates on loan, ending his nightmare under Mikel Arteta. Guendouzi has been frozen out by Arteta after his spat with Neal Maupay at the end of last season.
Guendouzi is set to be Arsenal’s first departure of deadline day.
The midfielder hasn’t played since June, when he clashed with Brighton’s Maupay at the end of the Gunners’ 2-1 defeat at the Amex.
Guendouzi then put in a transfer request and demanded to be sold, only to be told in no uncertain terms that he would be going nowhere.
He was expected to be given another chance at the Emirates under Arteta, with the manager said to be ready to wipe the slate clean.

But this season, he hasn’t even made the Gunners’ squad for any of their games across all competitions, and appears to have a slim chance of returning.
And now, he is set to fly to Germany to ink a one-year loan deal with Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin, according to The Mirror.
Guendouzi was linked with a moves to Marseille, Villareal and Roma, but those talks have broken down.
There is still work to be done before the deal can be confirmed, but the French midfielder is said to be willing to go out on loan to get some consistent game time.
