Arsenal’s interest in swooping for Dominik Szoboszlai leaked by agent

RB Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai’s agent has reportedly admitted Arsenal are keen in the 20-year-old.

The Gunners were linked with a move for Szoboszlai over the summer with Premier League rivals Chelsea also believed to be keen.

Szoboszlai is thought to be valued at around £26m though his price may rise having already scored two Champions League goals this season.

Primarily playing on the left, the Hungarian could well be on Arsenal’s radar again in January, according to Index.

And it has been claim that Szoboszlai’s agent, Matyas Esterhazy, confirmed the Gunners’ interest while at a business panel discussion at the offices of the Hungarian edition of Forbes magazine.

After being asked about Szoboszlai’s situation, Esterhazy replied: “Arsenal’s interest is real.”

Szoboszlai has two goals in ten caps for Hungary with Esterhazy reportedly adding that his client is likely to remain in the ‘German-speaking world’.

Though the Gunners could move for the star with Mikel Arteta having said current winger Nicolas Pepe needs more consistency.

The boss admitted: "He's not been first choice in all of the games at the moment but he's played a lot of moments. Some have been better than others.

"It's about finding the consistency, not through the games but during the games as well to be more incisive, and do the right things on many occasions when he has to make the right decision on the pitch.

"It's nothing to do with his attitude. He's a player who takes risks, a very creative player – that's the most difficult thing in football, when the opposition know what you can do, how much they want to prevent the space, and creating situations from that is complicated.

"But sometimes it's the simple things, the deliveries, the amount of situations he's able to create or attract and then make the right decision to keep evolving that phase of play.

For example, the finishing, the position inside the box, he has to be more consistent at it. We're working on it, and hopefully he will be doing it much more efficiently."
