Everton are looking to sign Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen on loan before tonight’s transfer deadline.

Carlo Ancelotti is eager to bring in a goalkeeper to provide competition for Jordan Pickford.

Pickford made a high-profile error as Everton beat Brighton on Saturday and has a reputation for making costly mistakes.

Everton had been linked with moves for Manchester United’s Sergio Romero and Tottenham’s Paulo Gazzaniga.

However, Olsen has now emerged as Everton’s first-choice goalkeeper target.

The 30-year-old, who has been capped 38 times by Sweden, spent last season on loan at Cagliari. 

Earlier on deadline day Everton secured the signing of defender Ben Godfrey from Norwich for £20million.
