Lucas Torreira has sent a heartfelt message to Arsenal fans following his Atletico Madrid move this month.
The Uruguayan's start in north London was strong, with the midfielder impressing under Unai Emery.
However, Mikel Arteta didn't award Torreira the same amount of playing time.
Atletico jumped at the chance to land the 24-year-old on loan, securing a deal in the closing stages of the summer window.
And Torreira has send a goodbye message to Arsenal supporters following his temporary move.
"It was an absolute privilege playing for Arsenal these last two seasons! Thanks a lot! We catch up soon!" Torreira posted on Twitter.
"Once a Gunner…always a Gunner!!"
Torreira attracted interest from a host of Serie A clubs, as well as Atletico.
Roma, Fiorentina and Lazio had all agreed a deal for the midfielder.
But Torreira was insistent on securing a move to Spain before the summer window closed.
"Lucas’s operation was very complicated," Torreira’s agent, Pablo Bentancur, said earlier this week.
"Arsenal were targeting Thomas Partey and when the two clubs have a different objective it is difficult to be in the middle of the two operations.
"We had other agreed-upon teams such as Roma, Fiorentina and Lazio, who play the Champions League, but Lucas was blunt.
"He told us that his goal was Atletico and that we get it for him and we work for the players.

"He closed all the other possibilities, it either, ‘yes or yes’ to Atletico. Luckily in the end it was done.
