Manchester United could have a late plan in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho.

Daily Star Sport understand that the Red Devils made a bid worth £75m up front plus £15m in add-ons in a bid to secure the services of the 20-year-old, but it was swiftly rejected by Borussia Dortmund.

The Bundesliga challengers have been holding out for £108m throughout the saga, and have stated on multiple occasions that he will be staying in Germany for at least one more full season.

Despite that, should United match the requested sum over the weekend then it is unlikely that Dortmund will reject it, with the former Manchester City youth player failing to publicly commit to his current club.

Fabrizio Romano has now reported that although Diogo Dalot is in talks with AC Milan, Roma want him to join them as part of their move to sign Chris Smalling on a permanent deal.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on seeing both leave before the window shuts and that could hand United a timely £20m boost to their transfer kitty which could be added to their move for Sancho.

In addition, according to Football Insider Leeds United are said to have revived their interest in Daniel James by offering an improved sum of £25m after a loan deal was rejected by his parent club.

Those three deals would give United a huge helping hand should they send in another bid for Sancho, but Ed Woodward’s comments in September suggest he might not be keen on upping any offers.

He wrote before the defeat to Crystal Palace: "Disruption from the pandemic is continuing to create huge economic pressures from the top to the bottom of the football pyramid and, while we are fortunate to be in a more resilient position than most clubs, we are not immune from the impact.”

“Together, these investments reinforce our optimism about the future, and we will continue to build on these strong foundations.

"However, we must also be responsible in our use of resources during the most extraordinarily challenging time for everyone in football.”
