Manchester United could go head-to-head with Real Madrid over Eduardo Camavinga.
The 17-year-old continues to take Ligue 1 by storm and made his mark on the international scene by scoring an overhead kick on his first start in the 7-1 win over Ukraine last week.
His recent efforts seem to have alerted some of the biggest clubs in the world to his talent, with scouts in both the Premier League and La Liga now keen.
The report comes just days after Paul Pogba once again professed his admiration for Los Blancos, which could come into the thinking of the Red Devils as they look for a replacement.
Spanish outlet AS have reported that United have ‘put in place a mechanism’ for the signing of the central midfielder who will see his current deal expire in 2022.
That comes after Zinedine Zidane made the player his top request for the future, with the club recently scrapping the idea of signing him this summer following the pandemic.
They add that United are now posing a ‘giant threat’ to that interest, and that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to take steps to replace Pogba with his current deal coming to an end.
Pogba himself was full of praise for Camavinga following his recent strike.
He said: “It is a pleasure to see him don the shirt. To score after his first starts, that is honestly wonderful.
“I was truly happy for him. I only wish him the best and much more. He has everything for that. His future is in his hands. He is very at ease, he is a little dancer.
“He makes me think a bit about me. He is not a timid person. It is good, because he is confident. He has confidence in his qualities. He is a very good youngster, I like him enormously.”

After Pogba said of Real Madrid: “We have all heard these things that have been said. What to respond?
“Yes, all footballers would like to play for Real Madrid. Maybe it is a dream. It is a dream for me, why not one day. As I have said, I am at Manchester United and I like my club.
“I am performing at Manchester United, I am enjoying myself and I want to do everything I can to get the club back to where it deserves to be. I am going to give my maximum, like my teammates.”
