Paul Pogba may be struggling for form for Manchester United, but he has no such issues on the international front. The midfielder was made to wait for his 70th cap, with 16 months separating his previous one.

“I got a good Paul back. He is not always here to score or give assists. He has a big activity, and technically he was good, too.”

Previous to his showing against Portugal, Pogba had drawn publicity of the wrong kind after he fueled speculation about his future at Old Trafford.

With less than 12 months left on his deal with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, Pogba revealed that talks had yet to be launched with his current employers – while admitting a move to Real Madrid was his “dream”.

“Like I have said. I am at Manchester United and I love my club. I am performing at United, I am enjoying it and I want to do everything I can to bring this club back where it belongs. I will give my best like all my teammates.”

But United will hope to see the benefits of a confidence boosting fortnight away, when he returns to Carrington on Friday.

According to ESPN, Pogba quickly made his presence known as the leader of his national side.
