England legend Michael Vaughan has hailed Jasprit Bumrah, Pat Cummins and Kagiso Rabada as the three best bowlers in world cricket.
India seamer Bumrah has developed into one of the most prolific white-ball bowlers in recent years and also has 68 wickets from 14 Tests.
Cummins has also impressed in all formats – helping Australia retain the Ashes in England last summer and signing a record-breaking contract for the 2020 Indian Premier League.
South Africa’s Rabada is the current leading wicket-taker at IPL 2020. The 25-year-old also has 197 wickets in 43 Tests.
Vaughan rates Bumrah, Cummins and Rabada as the three best bowlers in the world and reserved special praise for India and Mumbai Indians star Bumrah.
The former England captain told Cricbuzz: ‘You look at Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada and Jasprit Bumrah and I think those are the best three bowlers across all the formats.
‘If I had to pick one if would be Bumrah. He’s got that amazing ability to tip-toe in and then with his angle and movement it becomes so hard for batsmen.
‘He gets that movement and zip off the pitch and he’s a wonderful executor of the yorker.
‘I personally think he’s the best bowler in the world. He hasn’t had a great time of it during this IPL but when he’s on his game, I wouldn’t want to face him.’
Former South Africa all-rounder Shaun Pollock added: ‘Bumrah has incredible variation and that’s what makes him so difficult.
‘He just bundles in as well which makes it quite hard to find rhythm when you’re facing him.
‘He has been remarkable for India and he’s still relatively young so I think his best years are ahead of him.’
